I’m Ray Taylor. I built Divorce Diabetes after the 24-hour stretch I describe in Type 2 Ain’t My Type. This page tells you exactly what I collect when you use this site, what I do with it, and how to make me stop.

What I collect

If you join my email list or grab one of the free guides:

  • Your email address
  • Your first name (when the form asks for it)
  • A timestamp of when you opted in
  • The page or guide that triggered the opt-in (so I know which one is working)
  • Optional: whether you’re currently on diabetes medication (for the Hidden Sugar Audit — used only to tailor the follow-up emails)

If you visit the site:

  • Standard server-side log info: IP address, browser type, pages visited. My host (SiteGround) handles this automatically for security and performance.
  • Anonymous analytics: which pages get traffic, where it comes from, what people click. I do not run Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel. The analytics tool I use does not drop cookies or track you across other sites.

The medication checkbox: Tells my email system whether to send you the “what to talk to your doctor about if you’re on medication” sequence instead of the standard one. Never shared, never sold.

Who I share it with

No one I’m not paying to handle the work.

  • Email delivery: Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — that’s where the email list lives.
  • Hosting: SiteGround — runs the website.
  • Payment processing (when you buy something): Gumroad and Amazon. They handle the card data; I never see it.

None of these are advertising networks. None of them resell your email or use it to retarget you.

What I will never do

  • Sell or rent your email address to anyone, for any reason, ever.
  • Trade or share your data with a “partner” or “affiliate.”
  • Use your medication status or any health info you share to target ads.
  • Email you about products I don’t actually use or endorse.

How to get out

  • Unsubscribe: click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. Takes effect immediately.
  • Delete my data: email ray@divorcediabetes.com with “delete me” in the subject line. I’ll remove your record from Kit and confirm within 7 days.
  • Cookies: the site uses minimal cookies (mostly for the protocol gate’s local state). You can clear them or use Incognito.

Kids

This site is for adults managing a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis. It is not for children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has signed up, email me and I’ll delete the record.

This is not medical advice

The free guides, the book, the emails, every word on this site — it’s all the story of what worked for me and the steps I took. It is not medical advice. It is not a substitute for talking to your doctor. Don’t change your medication or your diet on the strength of anything I write without running it past someone with a stethoscope.

Updates

I’ll update this page if anything changes about what I collect or who handles it. The “Last updated” date at the top is the source of truth.
