Your number, not mine

What is your A1C actually telling you?

Your A1C is a receipt for what you ate 90 days ago. Most people get handed the number and never get told what it means. Put yours in and see it in plain English. Nothing is stored, nothing is sent.

It is on any lab report, listed as A1C or HbA1c. If you do not know yours, that is the first thing to go get.

The remission line

Where I started

11.7

July 2022. My own arc, not a promise. What happens for you depends on you, your doctor, and where you start.

Average blood sugar uses the ADA conversion. Remission means an A1C under 6.5 while off diabetes medication for at least three months, per the ADA consensus. A number is not a diagnosis. Take yours to your doctor.
